Paper 1, Question 1 (List 4 things)...

Your first question is there for you to settle into the paper and to show you can select explicit points from the text within the few few lines. 4 marks. Around 4-5 minutes only.
It's always important to make sure that you read the question carefully and find the answers specifically. That should go without saying, however, every year students select answers from outside of the lines stated and it's a clear loss of marks...As we know, every single mark counts...
Read the text. Once you've read it, read the questions so that you know what's coming up and that should reduce anxiety for the Question Paper. Then, read Question 1.
Look at the lines you are focusing on from the question. Usually it's 3 or 4 lines only.
Read the end of the question. What are you finding 4 things about?
Read the text carefully and selct 4 responses.
Write them on each of the numbered lines given in the Question Paper in a short, simple sentence. While there's no requirement to put your answers into a short sentence, one-word answers may not be rewarded, so make sure that you put your responses into a short sentence for safety reasons.
There's no need to quote and don't overwrite your responses here. 1 short sentence per response is enough before you turn the paper over to Question 2.
While implicit responses can gain marks, there's no requirement to look deeply into the text here. Better to select 4 explicit responses that clearly answer the question, write them up in short sentences and move on.
If you happen to have more than 1 correct response in the lines you will be rewarded for them all up to 4 marks. You may end up with 2 marks on 1 line and 0 on the next. So long as you have 4 clear responses in your paper, you will be rewarded for selecting them.
Read carefully. Don't rush. Don't take Question 1 for granted. Every single mark gets you closer to passing, so give the question respect, answer it within 5 minutes and move on...
